Big News: We Are The Fallen unveils single cover "Tear The World Down"

The title track and second single lifted from We Are The Fallen's debut album will be released October 12th and the radio edit is said to cut the song's original length from about 6 minutes to about 4 minutes. Prior to the release of the single, the band asked fans to guess what the next single would be and create a single cover for their guesses. But the official one you see here was a pre-picked single cover, not a fan's submission. I really like the single cover, it's pretty cool. What do you think?

Big News: We Are The Fallen announces new single "Tear The World Down"!

Rumours were floating about that rock band We Are The Fallen's second single off debut record Tear The World Down was going to be the haunting ballad (also known as my favourite from the album) Sleep Well, My Angel but instead, the band has chosen the title track of their album Tear The World Down to be released. Through Myspace, the band requested for fans to submit covers of different songs off the album and the official single cover for Tear The World Down will supposedly be chosen from their fans' artwork. Nevertheless, Tear The World Down will be released October 12th.

Usher continues to storm the Hot 100 with the will.i.am collaboration OMG at #1 for yet another week, trailed behind by Katy Perry's collaboration with Snoop Dogg California Gurls. Ke$ha has been in Japan recently promoting her music there while Your Love Is My Drug becomes her second single to hit the top 5 on the Hot 100, peaking at #4 this week. Lady Gaga stays put at #6 with Alejandro. The Black Eyed Peas' Rock That Body moves up and peaks at #16 this week. Miley Cyrus' Can't Be Tamed falls 10 places to #18 this week, but with more promotion, I'm sure Cyrus' single will start climbing again. Lee DeWyze's coronation single Beautiful Day, a cover of the U2 classic, lands him at #24, noticeably much lower compared to last season's winner Kris Allen with his coronation song No Boundaries which peaked at #11 last year. He also places a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah at #44 and The Boxer at #88. Carrie Underwood's Undo It shoots up to #25 up from #59 last week thanks to that performance on the American Idol Grand Finale. Crystal Bowersox' Idol coronation single Up To The Mountain makes a debut at #57 while Lee's duet with Crystal on Falling Slowly debuts at #66. Christina Aguilera's Not Myself Tonight holds unsteadily at #95.

The Glee cast holds the top spot on Billboard's 200 albums chart in a second consecutive week. The Sex And The City 2 Soundtrack debuts at #13. Carrie Underwood's Play On moves up 11 spots to #24 this week. Miranda Cosgrove's debut album Sparks Fly isn't falling as fast as I thought it initially would, dropping just 2 places from last week to #45 this week. We Are The Fallen's Tear the World Down falls to #160 in its third week, thanks to hardly any promotion.

Earning herself a Top 10 debut is Miley Cyrus with brand new single Can't Be Tamed, arriving on the Hot 100 at #8. The Black Eyed Peas' Rock That Body sits right outside the Top 20 this week at #21 while Alicia Keys' Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready) enters the Top 30 at #27 this week. Carrie Underwood's Undo It is quickly making its way up the charts, leaping to #59 this week up from #73. Colbie Caillat's I Never Told You reamains at #63 for a second week in a row. Christina Aguilera's Not Myself Tonight falls to #73 this week but the second single WooHoo featuring Nicki Minaj off Bionic debuts at #79, which isn't so bad, I guess. Jason DeRulo's Ridin' Solo returns to the Hot 100 at #84.

Glee bows at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart while Lady Antebellum's Need You Now slips to #6. Charice's debut international album slips to #28 with barely any promotion this week. Miranda Cosgrove's Sparks Fly falls to #43 this week. We Are The Fallen's Tear The World Down falls to #104. Emily Osment's All The Right Wrongs EP falls to #181 after re-entering the charts at #132 last week.

We Are The Fallen's debut album Tear The World Down is ridden with big rock numbers and rock ballads, and behind that sound is the core of We Are The Fallen, lead singer Carly Smithson. Few American Idol alumni have crossed to this side of rock, and it seems Smithson's voice was tailor-made for rock. "Tear the World Down sounds like a big movie soundtrack" as is claimed. And in fact, it does. The strings, the choirs, give the album a haunting feel so easily heard on their debut single Bury Me Alive. Clear standouts on the album include Bury Me Alive, I Am Only One, and Don't Leave Me Behind. So they sound like a big movie soundtrack, but who doesn't love that?

Little Bits of News (In Case You Haven't Heard)

• Kris Allen's new single The Truth featuring Pat Monahan of Train has already been released digitally and he will promote it with a big live performance on the American Idol Grand Finale this May. This has been rumoured for a really long time now but it's finally confirmed.

• Leona Lewis has posted on her Myspace blog that she will be opening for Christina Aguilera on Aguilera's summer tour. Bionic, Aguilera's new album will be released June 8th and will be going on tour almost after. Lewis herself has been preparing herself for her debut tour The Labyrinth Tour which already has confirmed dates in the UK and Ireland. And of course, the North American leg will be shared with Aguilera as said, and you can expect more worldwide dates to be announced for The Labyrinth Tour.

• Allison Iraheta's publicist Gina Orr has confirmed on her Twitter that Don't Waste The Pretty will be Iraheta's upcoming single. Also, her live televised performance of Don't Waste The Pretty will debut on The George Lopez Show which airs next Wednesday, May 19.

• We Are The Fallen are going on a headlining tour to promote the release of their debut album Tear The World Down and according to their official site, are embarking on a European promo tour. Tear The World Down was released on the 11th of May in the US and 10th in the UK.

As I've mentioned earlier, We Are The Fallen, a new rock band fronted by Irish lead singer Carly Smithson will be May's Artist of the Month. There's no major release in May besides rock band We Are The Fallen who will be releasing their debut album Tear the World Down on the 10th and 11th of May in the UK and the US respectively. Thus, I have chosen them to be May's Artist Of The Month, that is, until many artists announce a May album release at the eleventh hour, which isn't likely to happen. We Are The Fallen new track: Without You

We Are The Fallen is a new rock band consisting of former American Idol finalist Carly Smithson, who takes the reins as the lead singer of the group, and some of Evanescence's ex-members. The band recently premiered this song Without You on their official website, and will be available on May 11th, the same day the band's debut album Tear The World Down will be released. Bury Me Alive is the official first single from the album and is already available on iTunes and I suggest you go get your copy right now. It's official. We Are The Fallen's debut album will be called Tear The World Down and will hit stores May 11th. They have been shooting the music video for their first single Bury Me Alive. Buy Bury Me Alive here

New Single Updates

• Cheryl Cole's third single Parachute from her debut solo album 3 Words will be released 15th March in the UK. The music video to Parachute is already released and has been met with praise from critics. Cheryl debuted the performance of Parachute at her very own Cheryl Cole's Night In.

• Releasing her own version of Fefe Dobson's hit Don't Let It Go to Your Head, Jordin Sparks has already released Don't Let It Go to Your Head as a digital download in the UK. Jordin has mentioned she has other songs in mind for the third single in the US. Shortly after Jordin's album was released Dobson said, "Jordin Sparks just did [that song], which was on Sunday Love, which was very cool. She did kind of, like, a more R&B version of it, which I think is really nice, actually. It was really cool that she didn't try and do a rock version of it, and she did what she's more comfortable with, which I thought was awesome."

• Pixie Lott's debut studio effort has done quite well in her native country and she is even up for awards at the BRIT Awards ceremony. Gravity is set to be the fourth single from Turn It Up and the music video for Gravity will premiere soon, as confirmed by Pixie on her Twitter account and will be released on the 22nd of February.

• Colbie Caillat's Breakthrough was up for a Grammy and hit the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Confirmed to be the second single off the album is I Never Told You, and Colbie has started promoting it already, with a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and a couple of radio shows. It is already available, and was released February 1st.

• Also noteworthy are We Are The Fallen's debut single, which has almost a complete minute over the previous digital download release. Bury Me Alive was sent to radio stations and was available in the US, UK, Canada and Ireland music stores as of February 2nd.
