Pixie Lott - What Do You Take Me For [Music Video Premiere]

This week saw Pixie Lott premiere the music video for her new single What Do You Take Me For which features Pusha T and comes after her UK chart-topping but totally generic All About Tonight. What Do You Take Me For takes things into a more soulful direction, dabbling with a bit dubstep without being desperate (Sugababes' Freedom) and is completely snazzy and all sorts of amazing. I'm even liking the album title of Young Foolish Happy now. Girl just needs to use a different picture for the album cover.

Nevertheless, the music video sees Pixie sometimes rather awkwardly trying to pussy pop and everything, but she still looks hot. Well, when she's not looking awkward. The music video as itself is quite stylish, with some part looking like high fashion photoshoots rather than a new music from one of Britain's most talked about female pop artists.

It's a good video, yes. It's an even better song, yes. However, I can't help but think all the personality and soul has been sucked out of her. What happened to the 2009 Pixie Lott?

Big News: Pixie Lott unveils new single "What Do You Take Me For"!

Apart from being a little sore Pixie Lott beat the likes of The Saturdays and Leona Lewis from getting the UK #1 spot on the Singles Chart, especially since All Fired Up and Collide >>>>>>>>>>>> All About Tonight, and with things being a little quiet over at Sats camp and Leona pushing the release of her album till early next year with Collide doing unexpectedly rather badly by Leona's standards, Pixie has unleashed her new single on us.

The next single isn't out till November 6th, but like how she released the video for All About Tonight ten years before its release, What Do You Take Me For looks set to do the same. Radio 1 premiered the track and honestly, I actually do quite like this one. I loved Pixie to bits when she was on her first album era, then she just milked Turn It Up all she could, shoving ten average to terrible songs onto the tracklisting to make a Turn It Up Louder. All About Tonight also didn't deserve the #1, but What Do You Take Me For is jazzy and sassy. All that I didn't like about the track is that never needed those features, and her voice sounds overly gruff when the chorus comes along.

Still, The Sats + Leona >>>> Pixie 2011

The Saturdays - All Fired Up live @ Alan Titchmarsh Show + Pixie Lott - All About Tonight live @ Red or Black

It's single release week for The Saturdays and they're battling it out with Pixie Lott's All About Tonight and Leona Lewis' Collide on iTunes at the minute. So hoping they can overtake Pixie Lott on the iTunes Chart, the girl group dropped by the Alan Titchmarsh Show to perform the Xenomania-produced club banger. It's pretty much the same as their performance on British breakfast show This Morning, with the same pre-recorded vocals except in black dresses this time. So they sounded good, looked the part, and when they hit the final chorus, there was a surge in energy and volume as well. Brilliant.

Then we arrive at Pixie Lott's performance of All About Tonight on that new Simon Cowell gameshow to keep his reign over British telly and a slot where his favourite acts can pimp their new singles. If The Saturdays don't land an X Factor promotional slot, I will cut him. Nevertheless, Pixie managed to land herself this performance slot a night after Leona Lewis debuted Collide, and it's unfortunate Pixie didn't do great with this performance.

The whole performance was rather cheesy, starting off with Pixie standing in the middle of four other Pixie holograms, and lip-syncing her way through the performance until she left her holograms and walked out towards the crowd. Shame. Then there was that shameless dubstep dance breakdown a la Cheryl Cole where Pixie tried to show she could dance as well. No, it wasn't impressive. It came off as contrived.

Overall, it was a bland performance. I want Mama Do and Boys And Girls Pixie Lott back. And since she keeps harping on the fact her upcoming sophomore album will be more soulful, I'm going to take her word for it. Or else she'll be lost in the shuffle of generic British pop stars.

Pixie Lott - All About Tonight [Music Video Premiere]

British pop/soul songstress Pixie Lott has decided to ditch her blonde locks for a new shorter look the same way Dianna Agron has, and along with the new look comes some new music. She's had some delightful hits such as the sassy Mama Do and the zingy Boys and Girls, but All About Tonight sees Pixie embracing the clubbier side of pop music, infusing it with some europop sensibilities.

I'm not completely sold on the song just yet - the chorus isn't big enough, the production isn't banging and the vocals aren't showstopping. But it might just grow on me so we'll see.

Pixie Lott - Catching Snowflakes live on Alan Titchmarsh Show

British popstar Pixie Lott may be on her headlining UK tour but she managed to squeeze a performance of Catching Snowflakes in on the Alan Titchmarsh Show. It's my favourite song from her so far, and honestly, I don't get why this wasn't released as a single after Broken Arrow as Can't Make This Over sounds perfect for the Fall while Catching Snowflakes could sound like a Christmas #1. Vocally it's one of her better performances lately, and there's something about the sweetness about the song that just hits me right there in my heart.

Pixie Lott - Can't Make This Over [Music Video Premiere]

British stunner Pixie Lott recently re-released multi platinum-selling debut album Turn It Up and Turn It Up Louder was preceded by Broken Arrow. Favouring the ballads on the release, Lott has moved on to her second single after Broken Arrow missed the Top 10 of the UK charts, peaking at #12 and becoming her 6th UK Top 20 single. Lott has chosen another ballad Can't Make This Over as the second single (in place of what was supposedly the album's next single Coming Home featuring Jason DeRulo). But unlike Broken Arrow, Can't Make This Over doesn't actually get old. Where I actually would rather not listen to Broken Arrow again, I can replay Can't Make This Over well.. Over and over again. It's one of those songs. Good thing then. Someone book her for a performance on The X Factor please. And where's the sass of Mama Do or the zing of Boys And Girls??

Let's hope she's saving killer stuff for the US..

Pixie Lott - Broken Arrow live @ T4's Stars of 2010

The T4's Stars of 2010 had a star-studded line-up including Jason DeRulo, Alexandra Burke, Ellie Goulding, The Saturdays, and of course, Pixie Lott. The blonde British pop star took to the stage to perform her latest UK Top 20 hit Broken Arrow. Her label should get their act together and release the next single already because she's landing these big stages and she's singing past hits. She performed Turn It Up on Children In Need. Need I say more? Bring on Can't Make This Over or Coming Home ft. Jason DeRulo already! Whichever is the next single, c'mon!

Pixie Lott - One Night Stand With Pixie Lott

Looking as pretty as a doll was Pixie Lott on her ITV2 special One Night Stand with Pixie Lott, and you thought Cheryl Cole's Night In was badly titled. But anyway, like what Chezza did to plug her album/singles, Lott did the same and performed hit after hit after hit. So it's just a teaser of what you'd expect her debut headlining tour The Crazycats Tour to be then.

Opening with her debut #1 UK Single Mama Do (Uh Oh Uh Oh), the crowd looked like they were having fun and were incredibly supportive, probably her bigger fans then, because the performance was a little lifeless and dull. Oops.

Turn It Up was the usual kind of Turn It Up performance you'd come to expect from Pixie. Come on Pixie, up the energy level a little!

Lott then moved on to a cover of Plan B's She Said acoustic, just before a costume change. I must say, her guitarist isn't too shabby a player (see the beginning before Pixie comes out).

Lott continued her acoustic set with Kings of Leon's mega hit Use Somebody. Again, Lott didn't do anything special with it, but the energetic audience seemed to love it.

After another change of outfit, Pixie returned with her third single Cry Me Out. As usual, it was okay, not memorable, but okay. Vocally, however, it was probably one of the best moments of the show.

She then went on to her perform her latest UK Top 20 single Broken Arrow. Vocally, it was another pretty good performance, but it was rather devoid of emotion. Pity, could've been great. The usual Broken Arrow performance then.

Lott then moved on to Can't Make This Over, a track from Turn It Up Louder. She confirmed on Twitter that she was going to shoot, or has already shot a video for the song, and seeing that she just delivered her first televised performance of the song, it's probably going to be her next single. Sounds like another Top 20 to me, but I desperately need an uptempo for the next single (or Catching Snowflakes, a standout from Turn It Up Louder).

Lott then moved on to a medley of Last Nite, Meet Me Halfway and You Were Young and actually had some energy this time. Hmmmm. Well, as a last performance, it's a little too late to save the whole show. Wonder why she skipped Boys And Girls though.

Okay, she DID end the night with Boys And Girls but the performance STILL lacked a bit of energy. The break in the performance with the dancing wasn't spectacular but it had shades of brilliance.

Pixie Lott - Broken Arrow live @ National Lottery

Looking fit and fab as usual is UK pop star Pixie Lott who took to National Lottery to perform her latest single, the ballad Broken Arrown lifted off the re-release of her debut album Turn It Up, marketed as Turn It Up Louder. Lott did the usual performance so it was alright. Nothing special. Girl if you want to get back into the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart, just give us an epic performance on The X Factor and skip all these smaller shows, a la Cheryl Cole. Still, it wasn't half-bad, check it out.

Pixie Lott - Turn It Up Louder

English pop star Pixie Lott has won over audiences from all over the world and her UK debut album Turn It Up has gone 2x platinum, shifting more than 600, 000 copies in the UK alone. Not surprisingly, Lott has decided to re-release her debut album, marketing it as Turn it Up Louder. 5 brand new tracks and some old material that didn't make the original album make up Turn It Up Louder. The first single Broken Arrow from Turn It Up Louder debuted at #12 on the UK Singles Chart, #30 on the Irish Singles Chart and scraped into the Top 10 at #10 on the Scottish Singles Chart. Here are the bonus tracks, enjoy!

Pixie Lott's still making her rounds doing promo for her latest single Broken Arrow, which she incessantly tells you to buy all the time on Twitter. Nevertheless, the pop princess hit Simon Mayo Drivetime on Radio 2 to perform an acoustic version of Broken Arrow plus one more performance, a cover of You To Me Are Everything which you can check out below.

Pixie Lott - Broken Arrow live @ Lorraine

Well, you know how it is with UK single releases. Promote the song in its opening week with many televised performances and not care about it afterwards (not counting festivals/concerts etc.). So here is British pop darling Pixie Lott with her brand new single Broken Arrow. She poured in emotion by the truckload, and it's refreshing to see her take on a ballad again. Now, all they need to do is send her over to the US and invade the Hot 100 with Boys And Girls, her debut US single, also known as her second #1 in the UK. Nevertheless, check out the performance above. It was pretty good.

UPDATED: The interview has now been included. Talked about, music, fashion and romance.

Pixie Lott - Cry Me Out & Turn It Up live @ A Concert For Heroes

I'm so sorry I missed this, but better late than never. Gorgeous UK pop star Pixie Lott recently played a gig at A Concert For Heroes and the clip for Boys And Girls surfaced online before subequent performances Cry Me Out and Turn It Up did and I only chanced upon it recently. I usually wouldn't post something that is so late but what makes these two performances so good is that during Cry Me Out, she was too tired to drag her notes and do that annoying warble that plagues a lot of her performances. So all in all, it was a sterling performance. The warble does return for a while in Turn It Up but it's still one of the best, if not the best performance she's ever done in a while. Check out Cry Me Out above and peep Turn It Up below. Have I mentioned she looked gorgeous?

UK pop sensation Pixie Lott may have just starred in her first movie role playing Judy on Fred: The Movie but the gorgeous blonde songstress isn't giving up on her singing career. She's milking every last drop of her debut album Turn It Up and is set to be a lot busier when Turn It Up Louder is released in the UK. That's right, Turn It Up Louder is a re-release of Turn It Up which has since gone double platinum in the UK after scoring Pixie five consecutive Top 20 UK singles.

Turn It Up Louder will feature 10 brand new tracks compared to the standard album. They've also merged some tracks from the UK iTunes deluxe edition album for some reason, which features covers of Kings of Leon's Use Somebody, When Love Takes Over originally by Kelly Rowland, and finally the other 8 are all originals. 18. Broken Arrow"
19. Coming Home" (featuring Jason Derulo)

The first 12 songs are as per normal, and Turn It Up Louder will be preceded by her upcoming single Broken Arrow which is set to be released October 12th while the re-release itself will hit stores October 18th.

Pixie is set to conquer the States with debut single Boys And Girls (which was her second consecutive UK #1) and the reworked Stateside version will be released early 2011.

Peep the video for Broken Arrow below which I still haven't gotten tired of yet.

Pixie Lott & Alexandra Burke - Help For Heroes

Pixie Lott - Boys And Girls

The gorgeous pop starlet Pixie Lott sang her second consecutive UK #1 single Boys And Girls live at Help For Heroes. The blonde pop princess did a little dance routine in the middle, making her miss a couple of big notes in the performance. Boo.

Alexandra Burke - Start Without You

Former The X Factor (UK) winner Alexandra Burke took to the stage to sing her third UK #1 single (it just hit #1 yesterday *or today depending on where you are in the world*) Start Without You and delivered a good performance, something I've long expected from her. Also, Start Without You hit #1 on the Scottish Singles Chart and #5 on the Irish Singles Chart. Congrats, Alexandra!
